A Note To Our Loyal Customers

Hi friends!

Just a quick note & reminder to everyone that I felt was necessary to talk about. We had a question from a long-time customer come up recently regarding our pricing & the increases we've instituted over the last year.

First, I'd like to say that the last thing any business wants to do is raise their prices, especially in an economy such as ours. Unfortunately, for small businesses to survive & maintain their standards, sometimes a portion of the operational costs have to be placed onto the customers.

Staffing increases (and long overdue raises so our employees can be comfortable), rising utility costs, insurance costs, and supplies/equipment/maintenance costs going on the up and up have put businesses like K-9 behind a barrel, of sorts. The sheer amount of maintenance involved in a business like this would really blow your mind...I know it has mine!

We also have to maintain a high level of care & cleanliness, and we have to be sure we're fully staffed so that we can handle the volume of daycare & boarding guests we receive. These numbers can vary greatly day by day, and there's no good way to run an average or even determine what future weeks will look like because they're so dramatically different & very seasonal.

With that said, even with our price increases totaling $1.00 for each service across the board over the last year, we still remain the lowest cost daycare/boarding/grooming facility with the largest discounts & promos in BloNo, and we hope we can keep that title. We're proud to be able to provide the outstanding care to your fur babies on a limited budget & hope that you can understand that these increases help us to maintain your pups happiness, and our employees' well being.

We will be raising nominally again in early 2023, but considerations are being made for which services to raise and how. We are going to continue to strive to provide more options & discounts for loyalty customers, newcomer promotions, and of course contest promotions & discounts for people that donate to our wonderful charities! We are working to have the best software & application options available to you, along with increasing our security, providing live camera options for you, and of course, making the grounds of our facility even better than they already are! With all that in mind, these things are not cheap, but ultimately necessary to help us continue to evolve.

We so very much appreciate you & your business, old and new! Stick with us and we'll ensure your satisfaction, and of course your fur kids will continue to have a fun, safe, and happy place to stay their days while you're busy with the craziness of life.

It's COMING!

Sweet news for ya! We are nearing the end stages of our K-9 Country Club App development & our new in house database! This has had its issues, believe me, and has taken far longer than we anticipated...but if all goes well, we should be live no later than JULY 25TH!

Once the system is active you'll be sent welcome invites (or you can request one) for the app download. All NEW customers will receive one automatically.

The app will allow you to message us, pay your invoices, upload your contact details, emergency details, photos, credit/debit card information, see your account history snapshot, and request certain services!

We'll be sure you're the first to know when we finally go live! Get excited!

Kennel Cough

We have had a few cancellations for daycare due to what could potentially be kennel cough. This is the season for it, and much like in the fall, we continue to do our deep cleaning overnight, and maintenance during the day to keep it at bay as much as possible.

If your dog is showing any signs of illness, PLEASE do not bring them in for daycare or boarding. KC is highly contagious, and could make it impossible for us to allow capacity for daycare or boarding appointments.

Please also let us know if you're not coming and why so that we can note your account accordingly. You will want to have your pup vet checked if they start showing any symptoms.

4th of July Weekend

Hiya friends!

Just a quick note to let you know that as of today, 6/23/22, our boarding facility is fully booked for the upcoming 4th of July holiday weekend. We do have a waitlist you can put your name on, but we cannot guarantee a spot for you.

We appreciate everyone's business and look forward to a super fun, super busy, Independence day :)

If you are staying with us, please remember to have your food portioned out, your vet documentation up to date, and any notes or special instructions for us at the ready to speed up your check in process! We also limit personal items (like blankets or beds) to ONE item per pet to avoid lost or damaged items during your pup's stay. We have off the floor beds & toys we can provide for them if that's something you'd like us to provide.

Also, you can opt for daycare play time as well Monday through Saturday by requesting the add-on service and adding it to your invoice. The cost is 1/2 day of daycare + the boarding stay, per day.

Before & After Hours Clients

Leaving it on the ground or not relocking it is a security risk to both our animal guests and our on-site residences

Continuing updates...

We had a very fun (but very soggy) week here at K-9. Our friends were in and out every day as much as we could let them, but man, did they get sloppy! We hate to keep everyone indoors all day if we don't have to. Remember, if you prefer your pupper being kept indoors & climate controlled, just ask our staff and we can note your account.

With that said, next week is going to be blazin' hot & humid. We will still rotate our guests in and out during the day but for shorter durations to make sure everyone is safe and comfy. As always, we'll provide fresh water & we'll be able to open the pools as well for some pre-summer swimming fun! **your pups will get wet and dirty**

Another reminder: June 1st institutes our 2nd price increase for 2022. You will see a .50 cent increase across the board for all services, ancillary or otherwise. I will continue to send out reminders here and on our other social sites including our website. We will also have some social events here onsite that will allow you guys to meet us, and each other these events will be announced as they are finalized. Don't forget, starting the first Saturday in June, we are open for DAYCARE from 8am-1pm! Come join us for some weekend playtime!

New online options for YOU! We will be updating our software to a different program which will allow us to build our own personal app for you to download and access your account any time you'd like! You'll have online payment options, messaging & photo options, & even scheduling request options all at your fingertips! This change is in progress and should be completed in the next 4-6 weeks. Once we are ready to go live, we will be offering you download & login information to get you started!

We are also going to be rewiring the entire facility for better WIFI coverage in all of our buildings, thus allowing us to move closer and closer to LIVE STREAM CAMERAS I know many of you have wanted this for a long time, and we're going to make it happen. Timeline for this is really tbd, but we are in the process of receiving bids for the work now.

Mid-June also starts our floor repairs (again). These won't affect you aside from Grooming appointments during the week of 6/12-6/22 where our grooming/bathing room will be closed. The rest of the facility will remain open and fully functional.

So much going on...I like to keep you all apprised of our changes and upgrades as they happen. Keep providing feedback to us via Google & at our front desk! We LOVE your input and need to know more of what you'd like to see as we continue to grow & change.

Hey friends!

Just a quick note to catch you all up on the happenings here at K-9!

Our internal remodeling is nearing completion to our residential units! It's been a long time coming!

Our reception area floors, while redone last year, actually need to be resealed due to some issues we had with the original application. That is going to happen sometime in June. During that time, you will not be affected, but it will be noisy and "constructiony" again for a short period of time.

Also in June, we will have our bathing room re-floored, which WILL require us to close grooming from June 12th through the 22nd. Unfortunately, we will not be able to perform any grooming or bathing services during this time - so if you're looking to have any services done, please make your appointments SOON as our remaining calendar days will fill up very quickly.

June 1st also institutes two new items: our 2nd price increase for 2022 of .50 will begin on all services. Our price lists will be updated for you and your invoices will automatically update when this occurs. K-9 is going to continue to apply nominal increases as need to compete with inflation much like everyone else. Our supply costs have skyrocketed as the pet industry continues to explode and supply vs demand becomes, well, more demanding! We wish we could stay where we were, but that's just not feasible. Rest assured however, that we will continue to be THE MOST affordable option in Bloomington/Normal & beyond, and we will continue to offer discounts, perks, and customer loyalty rewards as we grow.

Also starting June 1st, we will be open for daycare on Saturdays from 8-1PM! This is an awesome opportunity for folks to take advantage of errand running or day-time getaways on Saturdays! Let us play with your pooch while you enjoy your weekend Daycare will not require reservations and will function exactly like it does during the normal work-week. So, all you have to do is drop off like you do now!

Starting in the next few weeks, you will see building contractors on site as they begin installing additional shade buildings for our exterior kennels on both the small dog daycare side, and in the middle fenced-in sections. You will also see fencing contractors on site as they add on to our exterior kennels. We will be adding on a significant amount of additional kennels in the rear of our outside run area; adding space for more play and better safety features. None of these projects will have any affect on our open hours or existing space.

Be patient with us as we continue to improve our facility for you and your fur babes. We want this place to be the best in every way, and the growing pains can be painful, for sure! We are so glad you're along for the ride with us!
